Corey Blake Meet Annie Heart

Over the coming days I am going to chronicle my journey with Annie Hart and she will be guest contributing to this blog from her perspective of our work together. The goal is to let others in on the journey of creation. I hope you enjoy the series.

I was on a conference call with Bea Fields that focused on the wonderful world of social networking, when I heard someone introduce herself named Annie Hart. I loved her immediately. Why? Two reasons. One of her core values was in her name. Another I heard in her voice. I could hear her smiling when she spoke and her joy and sense of play was immediately apparent. I checked out her website and contacted her during the conference via email saying that I didn’t know why but thought we should talk. We set an appointment and jumped into action.

Annie is a great listener and organizer of information. I am an in the moment creator. I share my stories individually with people as examples in my work and recognize that they have power, but I have yet to craft an entire keynote address that is inspired by my own life…why? Because in my day job (and my night and weekend job!) I help others craft their own stories. What I determined quickly was that I needed someone to be me. To remain objective and pull out my juiciest pieces. To keep my feet to the fire. Annie matched my energy and my creativity while also possessing the two most important skills that I bring to my clients: curiosity and accountability.

So this Friday, I will hop onto a plane and spend two and a half days in Philly with Miss Annie Hart. I will be the student, ready to dive into the world of story. Ready to play.
