Google Analytics - The Power of Keyword Marketing

I have been using Google Analytics over the last nine months to aggressively ensure the strategic use of our keywords for each of the markets we serve. It is a magnificent program that has taught me the difference between wasted communication and highly targeted and effective marketing. One of our services, “keyword analysis”, determines a customer’s unique selling position and assesses which of their keywords we can utilize to actually get play and attention and drive revenue.

So many businesses still use standard keywords within their industry, which means that they are competing with everyone else who has yet to take the plunge into really understanding keyword effectiveness in their marketing. This is an amazing way to set yourself apart! Using Google analytics, we identify keywords and keyword phrases that are not saturated with advertising and articles. Then we can position the customer as the leader in that workspace by generating articles and AdWord ads around those phrases.

For instance: Our service of Legacy Writing is something that few people offer. We have termed the phrase “Legacy Writing” because we recognize that there is no competition for that product, yet it is a keyword phrase that gets a decent amount of traffic already. Go to Google and type in “legacy writing” and you’ll see that Writers of the Round Table is the only ad on the page (as of the date of this posting) and that we have two articles currently listed on page one of the Google organic listing (what you see in the main area of the page when you type in a search). This is a fantastic start! It is incredibly difficult to get listed on page 1! Now our job is to make Legacy Writing a common phrase and we do that by writing a series of articles about Legacy Writing that drive the “conversation” and introduce that phrase into the marketplace for people looking to have their own story documented.

How can this help you?

The ability to analyze and quantify our effectiveness makes all the difference in the dollars we spend. Otherwise we are just guessing and throwing money into the virtual wind, hoping it blows back in droves. That would be foolish! We must be intentional. The most amazing part of this process is that once we set this up and get it working, eventually we can stop paying for the AdWords and rely solely on the numerous articles to drive visitors to our site. When that happens, our marketing cost for that segment goes to $0, while our revenues continue to climb. Then we move on to the next service we want to market and repeat the process, thus building an incredibly effective marketing system that maximizes our dollars and time. The end goal is a huge amount of free marketing that generates tremendous revenue. As a business owner, what more could make you happy?
